"You Matter Because You are You!"

2023 is here, another year to live in the moment and make the most of each day. We are proud of all we accomplished in 2022 and look ahead to a new year of helping East End families experience the best quality of life at end-of-life and beyond.

Dame Cecily Saunders, the Founder of the Present-Day Hospice Care Movement, said it best, "You matter because you are you. You matter to the last moment of your life, and we will do all we can, not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die.”

At East End Hospice, we treat each person with dignity and respect and deliver specially-designed, individualized care. Our team of expert clinicians and specially trained volunteers blend the best of all available treatments and modalities. They focus on balancing overall wellness – body, mind and spirit – and improving quality of life.

Thanks to you, we continue our commitment to improving lives on the East End through expert care, comfort and compassion for terminally ill patients and their loved ones.

Tidings of Comfort, Joy and Community Support

Special thanks to the Westhampton and Southampton Garden Clubs for creating beautiful holiday arrangements delivered to patients in homes across the East End and at our Kanas Center for Hospice Care. Our families were comforted by your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Friends and supporters raised funds and awareness last month at Veronica Beard, Southampton during a Holiday Sip and Shop including Ela Rae and Bittersweet Designs Jewelry Trunk Shows. Thanks to Elaine Saladino for coordinating the event, and to those who shopped in support of EEH!

Act of Kindness in Friend's Memory

A beautiful gift arrived at our Kanas Center for Hospice Care on Christmas Eve. Westhampton Beach High School students Ella Carriero, Katie Lanning and Ava Calamita delivered snacks for the Kanas Center Family Pantry to honor their friend and former Kanas Center patient.

For the second year, the girls collected money to purchase snacks, and bring comfort and sustenance to visitors.

The girls recalled stopping at the pantry during their own visits with a friend who was a patient a few years ago. Their act of kindness helps family members visiting loved ones, and honors the memory of their dear friend.

"We Remember Them"

Hundreds gathered last month in Cutchogue, East Hampton, Shelter Island and Westhampton Beach for the East End Hospice Tree of Lights Memorial. The outdoor services honored the memories of deceased friends and family with prayers from local clergy, spoken remembrances, music and the reading of the names.

We are thankful to all those who attended and to all who participated especially our volunteers, local clergy, musicians and EEH staff.
