Have you ever noticed that children can literally grow overnight? I used to think that wasn't possible, until it happened to me, multiple times. When did I realize it? That's easy. The morning of a family function that required my child to wear their dress pants. Poof! I'm certain that I didn't buy an outfit with cropped pants. How could that happen? I was sure my child tried on the outfit just the other day. At least they said they tried it on, and told me that it fit. Didn't they? Time to think fast, call around to see what I can do to make something work and know that next time, I will double check those measurements.
Companies can grow overnight too. HR people know this, many of us have experienced sudden growth surprise, especially when an unexpected new hire shows up in their office at 9am...
