We invite you to attend a one-hour Zoom session with Pastor Jeff to learn more about the United Methodist church and Dayspring on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm. more
PRAYING WITH THE ELEMENTS
Water, Wind, Earth & Fire, the upcoming Book Study will give you the chance to dive more deeply into a contemplation of your relationship with nature. Organized around the canticle of the creatures by St. Francis of Assisi, Water, Wind, Earth & Fire is the first book to consider the ways in which praying with the natural elements can enliven Christian spiritual life. more
CONCERT: LIFT EVERY VOICE
Dayspring’s musicians will present Lift Every Voice, a concert of music written by Black composers on Sunday, January 17, at 2pm. Featuring special guest Nathan De’Shon Myers, who you may remember from last year’s MLK Sunday services or the Bahamas Benefit Concert, this concert will be uplifting, joyful, and moving. more
OPENING TO GOD
You are invited, through Zoom, to an hour every Friday morning at 10:30 beginning January 22 to find new ways to listen to God. Each week we will have a time of silence followed by lectio divina or guided meditation or another new or different way to pray to God. We will explore practices from many traditions and times. Please email Pastor Shirley at shirley@dayspringumc.org to register or for more information.
SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
Spiritual Direction offers a time when one (the Directee) can explore with another (the Spiritual Director) ways to connect with God in trying to find meaning and purpose in one’s life. A Spiritual Director does not have the answers, nor do they try to fix the situation. The Directee already has the answers within. The Director simply offers space for God to really speak and for the Directee to have time to listen.

Pastor Shirley has served as a Spiritual Director for years and would like to offer this ministry to those at Dayspring who might want to talk with someone else about an issue in life which needs more help from God. Spiritual Direction is not counseling nor therapy but simply a time and space to listen to what God is saying. This could be a short time together or a longer experience depending on the need. Please contact Pastor Shirley at shirley@dayspringumc.org if you would like to explore this possibility.
VIP RESPONSE TO THE CAPITOL
Valley Interfaith Project has published a response to yesterday's violent events at the U.S. Capitol. Both Pastor Jeff and Amy Notbohm have signed the statement. Read it HERE.
