McWane Science Center

200 19th Street N, Birmingham, AL

Join your T1D friends as we kick off 2024 in a scientific way at the McWane Science Center! This FREE event promises fun for all ages. Siblings & family members are invited & encouraged to attend. Adventure Hall Wristbands, snacks, and parking pass will be provided. Special guest speaker is Dr. Hussein Latif from Children's of Alabama Endocrinology.

This is a FREE Family Event and will include Ice Skating at the Village of Baytowne Wharf (9100 Baytowne Wharf Blvd; Miramar Beach, FL 32550). Make sure to dress in warm clothes! All ages are welcome. The event will run from 9:00am-11:00am on January 27th.

Teen Leadership Camp is February 16-19, 2024 in Alpine, AL at YMCA Camp Cosby. This just-for-teens winter weekend camp held over President's Day holiday weekend gives teens in grades 9 -12 valuable personal and community leadership skills they can apply at school, home, and in their community. Activities include a climbing wall, low ropes, group games, bonfire, advanced T1D care and tech talks, and more! Participants receive a 2024 CSH Teen Leadership Camp Achievement Certificate in recognition of their attendance and accomplishments. Scholarships are available.

Join local T1D friends at a free WALK family fun event in your area and enjoy music, games, activities, recognition for those living with diabetes and more! The Diabetes WALK for Camp Seale Harris is your best opportunity to raise funds for the 2024 diabetes camp season! All funds your team raises support camp fees!

Meet us at the CSH Alumni Tent at each walk event for special gift, recognition, seeing friends from camp, and celebrating 75 years of Camp Seale Harris!

For information on walking to sponsor a child, supporting Camp Seale Harris, company sponsorship opportunities, or how to volunteer, call (205) 402-0415 in Alabama and (850) 312-8849 in Florida.

REMINDER: Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Applications for ages 16-18 can be requested by emailing cit@campsealeharris.org.

Applicants choose one of two programs: a 2-week training during Senior/Junior Camp in Jackson's Gap, AL, or a 1-week training during Coastal Camp Seale Harris in Mobile, AL.

Read more about the CIT program at this link. All applications must be completed (including any supporting documents) by January 31, 2024. Applications received after January 31 may not be considered for the program due to a limited number of spaces.
