January 19, 2024 is Florida’s Arbor Day! On Saturday, January 20, Pinellas County residents can receive one free tree per person or two per family. The giveaway will be at the Lealman Exchange, 5175 45th Street N, from 9am to 1pm. Trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so get there early!


From now until January 31, the City of St. Petersburg is offering grants of up to $10,000 to organizations for projects that increase the tree canopy, diversify tree species, and optimize the locations of trees on public property. Apply here!


TreeQuest will take place from January 19-January 28! Hosted by UF IFAS Extension Manatee County, this event allows participants to search for tagged trees throughout six parks in Manatee County and scan the trees for the chance to win prizes!


Manatee County residents can receive a free tree at Manatee Mineral Spring Park on January 19 from 10am-1pm.


Keep Pasco Beautiful will also be having a native tree giveaway! There will be two tree distribution sites: Aloha Gardens Park located at 3120 Darlington Rd., Holiday FL 34691 and the Stallings Building (One Stop Shop) located at 15029 14 St., Dade City, FL 33525.  Distribution will be from 11 am to 2 pm, but you must pre-register to be guaranteed a tree.


Polk County will host a discussion on the benefits of trees along with great native trees for your Florida-Friendly Landscape. Register for this free event now!

Approximately $700,000 will be made available to support projects that protect, restore, or enhance the natural resources of Tampa Bay and its contributing watershed through the 2024 Tampa Bay Environmental Restoration Fund. Projects must implement the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan for Tampa Bay. A 1:1 match is required. Awards typically range between $25,000 and $250,000.
