Dear Friend,
Happy New Year!
Here we stand, at the start of a brand new year and a brand new decade. All that has come before transitions into learning experiences that we can draw from as we move into the future. We also have an opportunity, at the turning of the year, to let go of all that needs to be released from the past to lighten our load - emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.
Harvesting the lessons of the past, and then letting the past go is a powerful process. When we let go of what was, we make room for what is to come. We grow lighter.
Reflecting on the year, and the decade, that has come to an end, is an excellent practice to appreciate and celebrate all that we have been through, take note of the lessons learned, and let it all go. This liberates our energy and attention to become available to all that is to come.
Standing in the present moment we can appreciate what has come before without getting stuck there. Reflection on the past is not the same as replaying and getting stuck reliving the past. Being fully present in the now is key.
Letting go can be tricky business, at least for some of us. At the turning of the year, and the decade, I invite you to experiment with the process of letting go.
Her list of practices is wonderfully simple, and yet incredibly profound.
