June 8th - 6:00pm Our first TX Focussed Event!! Recap of the 2020 Election, 2021 TX Lege session, and prep for 2022 with Annie’s List Executive Director, Royce Brooks and Annie’s List Political Director Monica Gomez, board member Danielle Skidmore, and TX former legislative candidate Akilah Bacy.
June 10th - 1:00pm Monthly EWA Call with Pennsylvania U.S. Senate candidate Val Arkoosh, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.
June 30th - 6:00pm Candidate Event with Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
Candace McAdams Pugatch grew up in Corsicana, TX. After graduating from TCU she worked for Congressman Martin Frost in Washington D.C. as well as on several congressional and presidential campaigns in the 2000, '04, and '08 cycles.
After six years in San Francisco, where she built and led communications and marketing strategies for Emerson Collective, an organization founded by Laurene Powell Jobs focused on education, immigration reform, and climate change, Candace returned to Texas and now lives in Highland Park West, with her husband and their two children.
ORGANIZATIONS WE LOVE
A little different this month. We normally highlight an organization in this section each month. This month the highlight shout goes to the TX Democrats in the Legislature who pulled off the most impressive block to a voting rights bill in the country at the truly the 11th hour. We will talk about this during the TX event on June 8th.
