Idaho 2nd-Graders Featured on Lyla in the Loop Podcast


Sixteen second-graders at Potlatch Elementary School participated in a recording of the new Lyla in the Loop podcast on May 15. Art teacher Karen Rohn worked with Idaho Public Television's Education Specialist Lenea Pierzchanowski, Social Media Specialist Matthew Baltzell, and PBS KIDS producers on the event. The podcast will be available in 2025.

Winners Announced in Student Video Contest

Troy Edwards from Kuna Middle School and Maximilian Carter from Boise Senior High took the top honors for their anti-vape videos in the 2024 KNOW VAPE teen video contest, each earning $2,000. See the full list of 17 winners.

Each month, Science Trek looks at a different topic, with short videos available on the free PBS App. This month, we focus on Volcanoes! Find facts, games, links, a podcast, books, and teacher resources aligned to Idaho and national science standards at ScienceTrek.org.

Pre-K to Grade 2

Take the "Flat Kratts" on your summer adventure! Color the Kratts, cut out on the dotted line, and take a picture of them on your adventures this summer. Share on social media using #SummerAdventurePBS and #FlatKratt.

Idaho's Ready to Learn Initiative

Idaho Public Television has been selected to extend the impact of Ready To Learn–funded early childhood educational resources through a partnership with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and PBS. IdahoPTV is one of 14 public media stations to receive an 18-month contract to work with partners to expand educator, parent and caregiver trainings in their local communities, as well as to use digital media resources and hands-on learning activities from PBS KIDS, especially in underserved areas.
