Indiana Choice Scholarships for 2024-25
This spring, after the 2024-25 tuition is set, all registered families will be emailed information about Indiana Choice Scholarships for 2024-25. It will be a similar email to what was sent for this school year. It will include the family income guidelines.

Parents will be asked to reply "Yes" or "No" as to whether they qualify or not based on the income guidelines. If parents reply "Yes", they will be asked to submit a copy of their 2023 Federal tax return to verify household size and income. The school uses this information to complete the online application for the family.

For now, there is nothing that you need to do. We will not let you miss this information. We will email you again if we do not get a "Yes" or "No" with the first email.

Thanks,
Karen Haas

MIDDLE SCHOOL
Last month concluded our Knights acronym and what it means to be and act like a Knight. While JPII students have a reputation for doing a great job, now is the time to finish the school year strong. Show kindness and grace when given the opportunity. Be noble in your acts, and show integrity everywhere you go. Set realistic goals, and show honor in, and outside of the classroom.

Carter (8) - Carter was nominated this month for his continuous effort to improve himself. His personal growth over middle school, and specifically 8th grade, have not gone unnoticed. Carter has had a more positive attitude towards school, and specifically worked really hard to set a great example for the younger students during the interactive Stations of the Cross. He also took the initiative to study for his most recent ELA test, and has made academic progress this semester. Keep up the work, and the good attitude Carter!

Peyton (8) - Peyton was nominated this month for showing what it means to serve others. Service is about affecting others positively, and last week during the Stations of the Cross, Peyton was assigned to assist in the Chapel. He knelt during every song, with every class. He knelt 20 times, for 5 minutes each. To follow Jesus is to become like him, and Peyton’s humble act was something we felt needed to be recognized. Congratulations Peyton!

Lucy (7) - Lucy was nominated this month for her participation in the Passion Play. Lucy read the introductory part, and did an outstanding job. “Setting the stage” and preparing the audience for the seriousness of the performance is no easy task. Lucy read with clarity and grace. Her confidence has grown during her time in middle school and we are very proud of her! Congratulations Lucy!

Forensic science learned about different search patterns and then got to apply their new knowledge using these search patterns to find Waldo!

KNIGHT CAFE

Greetings from the cafeteria! We have an exciting announcement - beginning next week on Monday, October 2, students will have another option for a daily entre! In addition to having the option of the main menu item or a chicken sandwich, students will now be able to order an Uncrustable peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich as one of the daily choices. We hope students enjoy this new option!

-Please note, each lunch account is a debit account, not a credit account. Any accounts in arrears of $20 or more will need to bring a sack lunch. Please refer to the JPII Student Handbook in regards to this policy.

-"If a negative balance occurs the parent/guardian will be asked to send a sack lunch for their
child." Page 38 Appendix B

-To add money to your child's lunch account, please send a check to the school office. Please note, only one check per family is needed. Lunch accounts are shared amongst siblings. Be sure to write the name(s) of your student(s) in the memo line of the check.

-Each lunch account is required to maintain a $20 balance. Student lunches are $3.25/day or $16.25/week, per student- not including any extra entrees or milk.

Please register your student on the EZSchoolPay App to monitor your student's balance! Negative balance slips will not be sent home weekly.
