Dear Elyse,

Last Saturday, the peace of Shabbat was interrupted by a heinous and unprecedented attack on Israel by Iranian missiles and drones. Thanks to the cooperation and partnership of many nations, including the U.S., Israel was able to destroy over 99% of these attacks before they were able to detonate.

But as the attack ends, we are left with more questions than answers. What is the next logical step for Israeli leaders to secure their citizens? How and when will this war end? When can we bring home the more than 100 hostages still held captive?

With Pesach (Passover) just days away, these questions weigh on our collective hearts. It is a painful reality to celebrate Zman Cheiruteinu, "The Time of Our Freedom," when so many are captive, under attack, displaced, and traumatized.

I know that this Pesach will be different from all others. I know that there is so much anxiety and pain from which we must all heal. But if we can learn anything from this holiday it is that times before have seemed almost too dark to handle, and still, we have emerged together into the light. We retell the story of the Exodus year after year at Pesach to remind us not to despair when the present moment is difficult, but to know that we will work together for better days ahead, just as we have before.

One way to help is to reach out to your Representative in the U.S. House, who may be voting on sending aid to Israel as early as tomorrow. Hearing from you helps the Representatives and their staff members understand how important this aid is to Israel's security, especially during times when the nation is under direct attack. See instructions below for more ways to contact members of the House before they vote.

Call on Your Representatives

The House is voting tomorrow on a major bill that fully funds President Biden’s request for $14.3 billion in emergency security assistance for Israel.

We must get this bill passed and make sure offices are hearing from our community far more than they are from anti-Israel activists.

The three most important things you can do right now are:

  1. Call your House member with the number and script below.
  2. Click here and take a few minutes to call additional key Representatives to urge them to vote for this bill.
  3. Forward this message to friends and family and ask them to join you in calling.

Israel Responds to Iranian Attacks

Last night (this morning local time), Israel responded to the unprecedented attack from Iran over the weekend with a counter-strike near the Iranian city of Isbahan. Very little specific information is available about the Israeli strike, which comes after more than 300 missiles and drones were launched against Israel by Iran last weekend. The overwhelming majority if the Iranian projectiles were destroyed before they could reach Israel, thanks to the coordination of Israel and many partners, including the United States, European allies, and other regional partners.
