Final Week to Donate Pet Supplies

The Aspire Social 6th graders are running a donation drive for the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation (LDCRF) through March 22. This is the final week to donate unopened food, toys, leashes, beds, cleaning supplies, old towels, and reusable bags. See the full list of items. Drop off contributions in the box in the lobby or if sending it in, have your student drop it at the top of the main stairs near the movement wall.

Students Celebrate Women's History Month

Ivymount students are participating in a variety of activities honoring the exceptional contributions of women to our history this month. Endeavors room 182 kicked off Women’s History Month with a creative project! Students worked on making collages about inspiring women they read about in News2You. They also talked about important women in our own lives, including Ivymount teachers.

In Aspire PHS students completed a service project in honor of Women's History Month. Students delivered donations to Rainbow Place, a women's shelter whose mission is to provide women emergency overnight shelter during the hypothermia season and assist them as they transition to a better quality of life. Students are also planning a visit to a local female-owned and managed restaurant later this month.

Room 164 Practices Language Skills in the Library

Endeavor room 164 students have been working on social skills and speech and language goals in the library. With such a great selection of books, movies, and toys to check out, it’s a fun way to learn! Students are doing a great job asking their teachers for help in accessing these items. Thanks to our Media Services Team and our librarian Mr. T for creating such a welcoming space for all students.

Ivymount Serves a Slice of Fun on Pi Day

Ivymount staff went above and beyond creating special pie-themed activities to celebrate Pi Day on 3.14! Aspire Social room 135 students enjoyed a themed party, including pie arts and crafts activities, pie tastings, and games. In the Aspire Applied program, classrooms were full of laughter as students got the chance to "pie" the teachers of their choice! In Post High School, students participated in an interactive Pi Day baking lesson. They made three different types of pie, practicing kitchen safety and food prep skills while celebrating.

Save the Date for Sibling Night

Ivymount School's mental health providers are hosting our annual sibling night on Tuesday, April 16 from 5:30-7 pm. Siblings will engage in group discussions, tailored to their developmental age, to discuss their experiences of being a child with a sibling with special needs. Additionally, there will be a group for parents to discuss ideas for how to develop healthy relationships with all of your children, and to foster healthy relationships between siblings. We look forward to seeing you! A registration link will be coming soon.
