ITHACA, NY, November 8 ─ Community Foundation of Tompkins County is proud to participate in a nationwide celebration, November 12-18, 2023, to recognize and acknowledge the increasingly important role that community foundations play in strengthening communities, fostering local collaboration, and mitigating social issues like childcare, food insecurity, and racial justice – Community Foundation Week (CF Week). “CF Week is a time to honor, articulate, and raise awareness about the incredible work that community foundations do, right here at home,” said Gloria Coicou, Chief Equity & Community Engagement Officer. Tuesday, November 14: 'Let's Talk' Tuesday |
Community Foundations are deeply rooted in the communities we serve, and our effectiveness and impact hinge on our ability to engage, involve, and collaborate with our community. Community engagement is paramount to what we do, and we continue to drive it into what we do every day.
Join us for this unique opportunity to capture diverse perspectives and strategies for community engagement to educate, co-learn, and co-discover together. Engage with five community foundations ranging from very small to the largest community foundation in the world!

Wednesday, November 15: Volunteer Wednesday | |
We invite you to join us in filling bags with personal care and hygiene products to donate to Catholic Charities from 10am-11am at the office, 200 E Buffalo St. Ste 202. Drop in when you can. We are calling these bags, 'Bags of Grace'. In the bags, we'll include personal messages of hope, encouragement, and affirmation to the recipient of the bags.
At 11am, staff will bring the bags to Catholic Charities and volunteer until 1pm for Share the Warmth.
