JOIN US FOR COFFEE CLUB HOSTED BY MARY BETH WEST COMMUNICATIONS AND TENNESSEE STRATEGIES
 Blount County-based
Mary Beth West Communications, LLC, celebrates 12 years in business this month and will mark the occasion at the Blount Partnership's Thursday, March 26
Chamber Coffee Club, which the firm is co-hosting with
Tennessee Strategies from 7:30-9:45 a.m. at the MBWC offices at the Mountain View Office Building, 3401 Russ Circle, in Alcoa, behind West Chevrolet.
Mary Beth West, a Maryville resident, originally launched this 100-percent woman-owned business in 2003 as an independent practice, with a prior 10-year career that included posts in the banking industry as well as corporate and agency sectors. She ultimately developed a client portfolio with annual billings at nearly three times the national industry average for solo public relations consultancies in the U.S. prior to opening offices and hiring a full staff in 2007.
With the past three years marked by lows and highs - a September 2012 office fire wiped out the company's physical operations at the former Law Building in Downtown Maryville, followed by a recovery and growth surge for the business from 2013-14 by some 300 percent - the firm has emerged as one of the largest in the Knoxville area and is the only public relations firm in East Tennessee with in-house digital media development capabilities for websites, mobile applications and other custom marketing tools.
West and her staff of 15 manage a diverse client base in multiple industries, including the manufacturing, construction, architectural, energy, financial services, retail, travel/tourism and education sectors.
The company's award-winning work has included creation and implementation of national media relations campaigns, employee communications programs, consumer and business-to-business marketing initiatives, e-commerce and social media campaigns, and crisis preparedness systems.
