Wolf's Bus Lines Makes Front Cover of
Gettysburg Times Telling Their Story
For the last seven months, a normally perpetually moving fleet of buses and transport vehicles at GNJMA Member Wolf's Bus Lines has sat mostly dormant. More than 70 full- and part-time employees have been almost entirely laid off since March 17. What's worse, there seems to be no end in sight and the government hasn't stepped in to help, said Tracy Wolf-Stroyny, the company's vice president. "We've spent all this money to retrofit our buses, but we have no money coming in," said Wolf-Stroyny. Read the article: Part 1 Part 2

Update on Economic Relief & CERTS
UMA Thursday, November 12, 2020:
Economic relief in Congress still on hold as Senate control unclear. Two U.S. Senate seats in Georgia that will not be decided until January runoff elections have further muddled the timeline for action on meaningful relief in Congress. Effectively, the uncertainty over control of the Senate has left both sides hesitant to act. "The reality is they cannot get together," Ken Presley told operators.
"One date we do need to keep a watch on is January the 3rd and that is when the 116th Congress will conclude and all the bills introduced in last two years expires," Ken said. "If we get to that date and the CERTS Act has not passed in a larger relief bill, we are going to have to reintroduce it and start working again to bring our sponsors back."
For now, he suggested operators keep trying to add cosponsors for the CERTS Act and to also "circle back and take a second glance at the Main Street Lending program" for relief. "There have been some major changes," he said, "that might make a difference in whether its worth it for you to apply. "
Ken emphasized that while it is tough, UMA Members should try to stay the course and continue to push the CERTS Act, noting the bill is still gaining cosponsors. "It's a marathon rather than a sprint, so stay the course."
GNJMA urges our members to continue to reach out to members of the House and Senate from your area who may not be sponsors on HR 7642 nor S4150. If questions on where your representatives stand (and who to contact), please feel free to contact Pattie Cowley via phone or email pcowley@gnjma.com.
