Accurate measurement of Blood Pressure (BP) is essential for the diagnosis and management of hypertension, and the list of validated BP devices just got bigger.

At the launch of the US Blood Pressure Validated Device Listing (VDL™), 16 BP measurement devices met the requirements to be listed as clinically accurate, and now that number has grown to 25.

This expansion adds nine new device models, two manufacturers and three BP device types: ambulatory blood-pressure monitoring, automated office blood pressure, and community kiosk.

ADVOCATING FOR YOU

CMS knows that our member physicians have battled and continue to battle intense burnout and fatigue since the start of COVID-19. As the pandemic rages on, we continue to advocate for the needs of our healthcare providers including their mental health.

Many of our members report heavy reliance on access to their own health and fitness facilities to help strengthen their immunity and to maintain their mental health.

CMS sent a request to lawmakers to keep health clubs and fitness centers open, citing data demonstrating that they are safe environments right now when adhering to safety guidelines.

Health clubs and fitness centers are an important piece of health care and well-being for anyone, particularly as we head into the holiday season and days are getting shorter and the weather colder. For physicians, an outlet for exercise is perhaps more important for their physical and mental health ahead of mounting waves of Covid-19 cases and related patient care needs.
