Dearest FlyLady,
Growing up, we had everything we needed. Not too many extras, and had to make do. I learned to be clever, grateful, and keep it "just in case we need it later". I was lovingly taught how to clean everything in the house, but the rhythm of the process was missing for me.
I didn't let my home get filthy, but it certainly wasn't clean. Clutter, dust, dog hair, and more clutter kept me in C.H.A.O.S. mode. Having kids had me cleaning more often, but I was still drowning. I never could figure out why I couldn't get to the point that my home looked and felt like the home of an mature adult (I am 47).
About two months ago, I finally had the mental clarity enough to listen to my dear friend, and checked out your website. I started with shining my sink (in pure ignorance of why). Since then I have been reading your emails joining in the live videos, I bought the Back To Basics package, a Feather Duster, and was thrilled to get the Rubba Scrubba Bogo. I have faithfully decluttered, shined my sink, and gotten dressed to shoes. The rhythm of your methods and your kindness has changed my life. I can't thank you enough for your ministry. I hung curtains (real ones), I have real bathmats, and I am no longer in C.H.A.O.S. mode. In fact, I had a surprise visit from family recently and was able to bake brownies in preparation! I was already dressed and my home was clean!!!
