Summer Free Lunch Program

English Language Arts Teachers Team

District office staff, principals, teachers, and support staff from all schools came together to develop future plans for English Language Arts (ELA) within district classrooms, forming a team known as the ELA Teachers Team. The team aims to work collaboratively to be more intentional about how ELA is taught across the district. Ms. Gail Wilson, the district’s English Language Arts Curriculum Content Specialist, led the effort. She thanks Mrs. Green, Ms. Maybank, Mr. Jefferson, and Mr. Raley for encouraging the ELA Teachers Team members to participate in the meetings after school for the past few months and for providing support through quick walkthroughs, words of encouragement, and willingness to help. The team had some fantastic discussions about the new standards and support documents, and it was a true team effort.

Keeping Future Graduates on Track

We are thrilled to announce that our district is going to be an early adopter of the Mesa Cloud platform. This exciting opportunity comes as the South Carolina Department of Education has contracted with Panorama Education to provide all districts with access to this new platform.

Why Mesa Cloud?

Graduation pathways and requirements have become more complex than ever. Until now, ensuring students are on track has been an error-prone process of checking binder after binder of transcripts and schedules. Mesa Cloud is here to change that. Mesa Cloud automates graduation progress tracking to ensure every student is ready to succeed. Here are the key benefits of the Mesa Cloud platform:

  • Boost on-time graduation with automated credit monitoring
  • Efficiently monitor multiple graduation paths aligned to district requirements
  • Instantly identify transcript, schedule, or pathway errors
  • Quickly uncover issues in real time through daily syncs with your Student Information System (SIS)

We believe that our district’s insights and feedback will be paramount to the adoption and success of this robust tool. We look forward to embarking on this journey together for the betterment of our students’ futures. Stay tuned for more information on the next steps to secure your place as a part of this cohort.
