Those fava beans at Stephen Specca Farms caught us off guard last week. Just be ready this Saturday. Favas are one of the oldest known cultivated plants, dating back thousands of years. Just ask anyone at the stand how to prepare and enjoy these delights. Strawberries have only a couple of weeks left. Stock up to eat now, or to preserve .....or both.

Look for those amazing English peas at Durr's BlueBox Produce on Saturday. They go quickly, so you might want to wake up a little early for this. White and gold potatoes, along with raspberries and blackberries will be at the market soon. It looks like tomatoes will be early this year, and that sweet corn is no longer knee-high by the 4th of July. We'll be enjoy those ears before then!

Have you found Fernbrook Farms along the walkway? They'll have zucchini - green, gray and 8-ball shaped. Look for cucumbers, mini romaine heads, broccolini, beautiful garlic scapes, giant mixed gourmet radishes and Swiss chard. Potted herbs are still being planted, along with assorted nursery stock.

New on the menu at J&B Farm Fresh are the Swiss Chard microgreens! With those beautiful stems and green leaves, they are visually stunning and surprisingly delicious! Swiss chard contains biotin, alpha-lipoic acid, dietary fiber and lutein, making them extremely beneficial for good health. Stop by and pick up a container or two of these and all their microgreens. THIS is eating local and fresh!

Humble Spud is back after a brief vacation. This week's featured loaded potato is The Big Pig - BBQ smoked pulled pork over a baked potato with cheddar, scallions, jalapeno and sour cream. Your new favorite, the Okonomiyaki will be on the menu again, Japanese sweet potato and cabbage pancake with pickled ginger and tangy sauces. The Aloo Tikka Burger is back and better than ever - Indian spiced veggie potato burger with green chilies, cilantro, spicy mayo on brioche bun. They're real and they are spectacular.

Also featuring the Vegetable Enchilada of sweet potatoes, black beans, spinach, roasted red peppers, and cheddar cheese, and topped with an avocado crema. And don't forget the Humble pasties and breakfast burritos. Stay Humble out there!

Misty Meadow Sheep Dairy with their Bloomy Sunflower brie is made with 100% sheep milk and crafted with care on the farm. This soft ripened rustic cheese has a rich, complex flavor that is enhanced with hints of sunflower, walnut and mushroom. The texture is creamy and luxurious, as it melts in your mouth with each delicious bite. I mean, how can you not, especially with this beautiful picture :)
