June is Here!

From our President:

Dear SC2C Community,

We hope this newsletter finds you well and ready to embrace the joys of June. As the summer season kicks off, we have a lineup of events and celebrations that will ignite our community spirit. From recognizing Pride Month and Stamford Public Schools High School Graduation to honoring Immigrant Heritage Month and Juneteenth, along with a family event on Social Emotional Wellness, there's much to be excited about!

June is a time to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community worldwide, and at SC2C, we stand firmly beside our LGBTQ+ youth, families, and partners. Throughout the month, we will be highlighting LGBTQ+ voices, stories, and accomplishments. Let's foster inclusivity, acceptance, and equality for all members of our community as we celebrate the diverse tapestry of human identity.

On June 13th, we will gather as a community to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class of Stamford Public Schools. These young individuals have persevered, grown, and are now ready to embark on the next phase of their educational journey or careers. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates and wish them every success as they chase their dreams.

This month is a time to honor and celebrate the rich cultural contributions of immigrants in our community. Stamford is blessed to be home to a diverse population, bringing with them unique traditions, languages, and stories that enrich our collective experience. Throughout the month, we will celebrate the achievements and resilience of immigrants, fostering unity and understanding among all residents.

This June, we commemorate Juneteenth, a historic milestone in the fight for freedom and equality. On June 19th, we honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and recognize the ongoing struggle for racial justice. Let's take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversations about the importance of equality, social justice, and inclusivity in our society.

We are thrilled to co-host a family event centered around Social Emotional Wellness on June 14th. This event aims to promote mental health, well-being, and positive relationships within families. Join us for a variety of engaging activities, workshops, and discussions that will equip you with valuable tools and strategies to cultivate emotional well-being at home. Together, we can create a nurturing environment where every child and family can thrive.

Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to Stamford Cradle to Career.

Warm regards,

Edith Presley
