Since 1998, the BHS Innovation Fund has launched and supported many of the beloved electives that are part of the BHS experience, and our logo throughout the catalog helps you find them! Elective Highlights
SC6100/VA6100 Drawing for Understanding in Field Science
In this cross-disciplinary course, students in Grades 9-12 build and demonstrate scientific knowledge about the natural world through observational drawing and field research.
A unique opportunity for 10th graders only! The Racial Awareness seminar is a yearlong, co-taught Social Studies elective course that explores the complexities of race within our national, local and high school communities.
VA7450/CE7450 The Brookline Lens: A Photo/Video Production House
Students in Grades 10-12 will learn all aspects of photography and videography to work on real projects for real clients in the Brookline community in this proposed course.
Open to students in Grades 10-12, this Social Studies elective prepares students to become leaders in an increasingly interconnected and independent world.
EI&D provides a project-based curriculum that challenges students in Grade 12 to interpret real-world engineering and design problems using the BHS Maker Space design lab.
Grade 12 students follow their passion in a supported environment, exploring and researching in and out of the classroom for a full year, culminating in a written and oral presentation.
BHS parents in the rising 9th and 10th grades are invited to meet current BHS faculty and Headmaster Anthony Meyer at a free event on April 9th at the VineRipe Grill in South Brookline. Network with other rising 9th/10th grade parents, learn about the critical work of the BHS Innovation Fund, and have some fun!
