BECHS is Highlighting Lake Crystal History

BLUE EARTH COUNTY’S MAIN STREETS: LAKE CRYSTAL

Join us at the Blue Earth County History Center, located at 424 Warren Street, Mankato, on Saturday, June 15 at 1 p.m. for a program titled “Blue Earth County’s Main Streets: Lake Crystal.” This program is free and open to the public.

Main Streets are the central hub of small-town life, serving as the focal point for commerce, social gatherings, and community engagement. From Lake Crystal Historical Society, Blane and Ryker will showcase Lake Crystal’s Main Street during this month’s program. This program is happening in correlation with our latest exhibit Blue Earth County’s Main Streets, which is located on the main level of the History Center.

LAKE CRYSTAL CEMETERY A Virtual Cemetery Walking Tour

Grab your walking shoes, or a bucket of popcorn and join the Blue Earth County Historical Society as we explore the Historic Minneopa Cemetery starting on June 20 at 5 p.m.

The founders of Lake Crystal, early settlers and local businessmen and women highlight this tour. The video will premiere at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 and will be available to watch until midnight on September 1. We have two ways to tune into this tour!

OPTION 1: From the comfort of your own home, watch the Video version of the tour through your computer. This virtual tour will include cemetery pictures, historic images, and great stories put together in video format.

OPTION 2: Feeling adventurous? Visit the Cemetery in-person. Please note, this version of the tour will require the use of your smartphone and will use mobile data.

Both versions will be available through September 1.

Tickets are $15/household and can be purchased online at BlueEarthCountyHistory.com/Events.

For more information, please contact BECHS at 507-345-5566 or visit our website at www.BlueEarthCountyHistory.com.
