At the February 16 regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education, district staff presented a mid-year report highlighting the growth across the district in the goal areas identified in the Local Control and Accountability Plan, including:
-
Goal 1 - Develop college and career readiness skills through meaningful collaboration, creativity, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and stewardship.
-
Goal 2 - Foster social-emotional competencies and self-identity through student agency, engagement, and positive relationships.
-
Goal 3 - Ensure safe, equitable, and inclusive schools through caring learning environments, targeted support, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement.
The report highlighted the strategies used to measure student progress and develop individualized learning plans. In addition, to support authentic and relevant learning, LBUSD launched K-12 unit design opportunities for teachers to engage and empower students through high-interest, relevant and meaningful learning experiences this fall.
