DAY 2

Sometimes, it can be hard to go it alone. That can be especially true when you're trying something new and even more so if that something is a major change in your daily routine. At times like that, it can mean the world to have somebody along with you on your journey.

Here are some ways to make sure you get the support you need to succeed at the Veg2Vegan Challenge:

  • Invite a friend to go to Veg2Vegan.org to take the challenge with you -- it's never too late to sign up!

  • Join the Veg2Vegan forum to ask questions or discuss the challenge with other participants.

  • Join a local vegan meet-up or social media group in your area. If you're in the US, just type "vegan" and your city or state name in a search engine or the search bar of whatever social media platform you use, and something should pop up.

Shout-Out

Today's shout-out goes out to one of our favorite duos, Michelle Carrera and her son Ollie, who are the cofounders of an amazing vegan organization that is all about helping others: Chilis on Wheels. Michelle is a queer Puerto Rican vegan food justice activist who also founded Casa Vegana de la Comunidad, a vegan sustainability center in Puerto Rico. It all began when Michelle used a wagon to deliver free vegan chili in Brooklyn one Thanksgiving Day. Today, the Chilis on Wheels network serves eight cities, providing mutual aid of all kinds, including (of course) vegan meals and groceries. Today, Michelle works for VINE Sanctuary as our Project Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.
