Former New York State Attorney General, Lippes Mathias Partner, Team Leader of Government Investigations and Israel-U.S. Cross Border Practice Teams, Dennis C. Vacco, was appointed to The Business Council of New York State, Inc., Board of Directors. The Business Council is the leading business organization in New York State. It represents the interest of over 2,000 small and large companies, local chambers of commerce, and professional and trade organizations throughout the state totaling more than 1.2 million members.
This appointment will allow Dennis to advocate for Lippes Mathias clients in the political and policymaking arenas, promoting commercial business, economic growth, and employment.

Attorney Spotlight: Michael G. Rossetti
|
|
Michael G. Rossetti, Partner-in-Charge of Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP's Washington, D.C. office, a member of the Israel-U.S. Cross Border Team and co-leader of the Indian Law Practice Team focuses on advising tribal clients on economic development and Indian gaming, tribal governance matters, litigation matters, and the settlement of Indian water rights. Michael also lobbies Congress and the Administration on myriad issues.
He previously served for three years as a personal counselor to the Department of the Interior Secretary in Washington. He assisted the Secretary in formulating and implementing policies regarding Indian economic development, Indian gaming, land acquisition, law enforcement, and, in the immediate aftermath of September 11, 2001, homeland security issues.
Michael traveled to Israel with Dennis C. Vacco in September 2019 to present to BDO Israel on A Washington D.C. Perspective on Corporate Compliance. In 2020, amid the onset of COVID-19 and related bans on international travel, he contributed to several webinars to Israeli business associations on the U.S. CARES Act's impact on Israeli businesses.
He lives with his wife, Edith, in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, smoking a fine cigar, and travel.

The Wall Street Journal reported the New York Attorney General is accusing Governor Cuomo's administration of undercounting COVID-19 nursing home deaths by up to 50%. The document confirms the first time the attorney general has put the governor on the defensive. The Wall Street Journal contacted Dennis C. Vacco for comment; he responded, "This clearly is a line of demarcation where she is declaring her political independence."
