Summer is here, and Hillel UW is again sponsoring an event for our college-aged Jewish kids to get together this summer no matter where they go to school! Whether they just graduated from college or from high school or are somewhere in between – this event will be held on Mercer Island at a home on Lake Washington from 6:30pm - 9pm on Thursday August 1st. It should be a fun, laid-back evening of swimming and pizza (or certified kosher meals provided) where our college-aged students can reconnect with old friends and hopefully meet some new ones!

PLEASE HAVE THEM REGISTER FOR THE EVENT HERE: College Connect Summer Party! REGISTER HERE TODAY!

PLEASE ALSO SPREAD THE WORD TO FRIENDS OR ANYONE YOU THINK MIGHT BE INTERESTED!!

Important message from The Barber Foundation

Dear Friends,

Fred Barber זצ״ל felt challenged to make a difference in this world to prepare for the next world.

We are humbled to share the creation of The Barber Foundation - Tefillin Project to carry out this wish. Fred cared deeply about family, community, prayer, attending minyan and the mitzvah of tefillin.

Our goal is to assist bar mitzvah boys and young men who want to fulfill the mitzvah of tefillin. We are hoping to eliminate the barrier of the high cost that is a stumbling block for many.

Our mission is to subsidize the cost of purchasing tefillin since many cannot afford quality pairs.

Starting today through July 31, 2024, the Barber Foundation is launching a matching campaign. We are going to match dollar for dollar that is donated. We are a 501C3 organization and your donation is tax deductible. The more you are willing to donate the more young men that you will help in fulfilling the mitzvah of tefillin.

Please join us in this special way to honor the memory of your friend, of your community member, and of a role model to all, Fred.

With appreciation,

Debbie Barber
