Usual Methods of Extraction to make CBD:
Ethanol -
May include dunking plant in large drums of ethanol, using harsh solvents, which may remain in the extraction, even after the cleaning process. Cheapest and most popular method.
Hydrocarbon -
Butane is forced through hemp; uses a harsh solvent and may ruin the process.
Isolate -
H
arsh solvents used, often on plants that have mold
or those that have been exposed to
pesticides. This may change the chemical bonds, degrading its effectiveness.
Harsh solvents might remain.
FRONTIER'S METHOD:
SUPERCRITICAL CO2 EXTRACTION
This is the only form with no harsh solvents used
for extraction.
- Liquid CO2's pressure and temp is increased to allow it to pass through hemp like a gas; draws out the extract like a liquid.
- No possibility of residue from solvents since none are used.
- Making changes to pressure and temp can affect what it extracts, giving more control to the extractor.
