Internet of Things Temporary Tech Public Art Round III

Call for local artists to participate in a 10-week immersive technology course.

The Internet of Things (IoT) Temporary Tech Public Art Round III project is a continuation of a unique artist opportunity that aims to engage local artists with innovative technology training opportunities to collectively explore themes and ideas for future artistic enhancements and public art in Albuquerque and along the Rail Trail.


Six artists will be selected to participate in the artist focused technology course offered through CNM Ingenuity's Internet of Things and Rapid Prototyping Bootcamp. The course is customized specifically for public artists wishing to adopt technology as part of their creative toolbox. All activities will take place from October 2024 to June 2025.


The six selected artists will be provided tuition for the 10-week immersive CNM Internet of Things course as well as an $8,000 stipend to be able to attend the full-time 10-week course.

Punched Tin and Poet Laureate Exhibition

Join us for the opening reception of the Punched Tin and Poet Laureate Exhibition!


August 15, 2024 | 5 - 7 pm

Gallery One, 1 Civic Plaza NW


The exhibition features punched tin frames for poetry excerpts from each Albuquerque Poet Laureate and additional artwork samples by artists Esteban Durán, Josh Bond, Justin Gallegos Mayrant, Michael Worthen, Richard Gabriel Jr., and Roberto Gallegos.

Call for Exhibitions

Do you have a great idea for an art exhibition at Gallery One in 2025? The Public Art Urban Enhancement Division seeks art exhibition proposals for Gallery One at Albuquerque City Hall in 2025.


Exhibitions can fall under the following 4 categories:

  1. Community/Group Shows, defined as 3 or more artists
  2. Theme Shows, defined as exhibits curated by the Public Art Urban Enhancement Division
  3. State or Regional Exhibitions
  4. Special Partnership Exhibitions (local, national, and international)


The goals and mission of Gallery One is to foster an intersection between Albuquerque artists, the community and City government that engages and draws new, diverse audiences and provides more exhibition opportunities to local, emerging artists. The gallery space serves as an educational resource with exhibitions that complement and support existing Public Art programming.

New Mexico Art's Art in Public Places program announces the 2024 Southwest Artist Series Purchase Initiative.


The call is open to artists who reside in, and galleries that are located in the Southwest: New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Texas. Seeking existing artworks in the $5,000 - $50,000 price range.

Call to Artists: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Public Art Projects

The Arts and Culture Department, in collaboration with Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, seeks to commission signature works of art as part of the construction of a new Terminal 3 North Concourse that acts as a front door for travelers to the city and state. The project offers several opportunities to integrate major artworks into the building architecture and create stand-alone landmarks that can be experienced from multiple perspectives inside the terminal.


The Arts and Culture Department seeks applications from professional artists, and artist teams, working in a variety of media and artistic approaches who will be responsible for the design and implementation of the artwork.
