As chief executives of municipalities, Ohio’s mayors play a unique role in leading their communities and are challenged every day with circumstances that can only be handled by the chief executive -- circumstances often not easy to navigate.

In recognition of the need for our mayors to be provided important information and have the opportunity for peer networking, the Mayors Association of Ohio and the Ohio Municipal League are pleased to host the 2024 New Mayors Training seminar, taking place 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., May 17 at the Obetz Community Center (MAP HERE). A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The seminar will focus on topics specific to the duties of mayors and will be a great opportunity for our municipal executives to meet one another from around the state. Following the meeting, attendees are invited to stay for a post-seminar reception.

The seminar offers newly elected mayors, in addition to current or “veteran” mayors, the chance to receive the latest updates on critical topics such as changes in ethics rules/laws, public records, and much more. A copy of the draft agenda can be found HERE.

The league encourages our mayors to register HERE for this inaugural event, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone on May 17 in Obetz.

The registration and payment deadline is May 10.
