Designed to give the next generation of newspaper leaders the opportunity to connect and gain valuable insights from industry leaders and their peers

Applications for the America's Newspapers 2024 Newspaper Executive Development Program will continue to be accepted through June 14.


This educational program, open to members of America's Newspapers, is designed to develop leadership skills and a broader understanding of sustainable business models for local journalism organizations. The program is built to provide newspaper leaders exposure to a wide variety of topics in an engaging learning environment.

Dink NeSmith is chairman and co-owner of The Press-Sentinel. He also is co-owner of Community Newspapers, Inc. Eric Denty is president and partner in the Jesup newspaper. Behind their leadership, The Press-Sentinel seeks to bring the important news about Wayne County to Wayne County ... since 1865.

Pamplin Media Group sells to Carpenter Media Group


Dr. Robert B. Pamplin Jr. has sold Pamplin Media Group (PMG) to Carpenter Media Group (CMG), according to John Cribb, Cribb, Cope & Potts, who represented Dr. Pamplin in the transaction. The sale was closed effective June 1. Terms were not disclosed.

Ballantine Communications Inc. acquires The Farmington Daily Times (NM) from Gannett


Ballantine Communications has acquired The Daily Times, which serves Farmington and San Juan County, New Mexico, from Gannett Co. Inc., according to John Cribb of Cribb, Cope & Potts, who represented the Ballantine family in the transaction. Dirks, Van Essen & April represented Gannett in the transaction.
