Silica Production Video

R.W. Sidley has been a respected name in the silica mining industry for almost 90-years. We are a leading manufacturer of industrial minerals, filtration media, construction aggregates, sports aggregates including Pro/Angle Bunker Sand, and proppant sands. Click the image above to learn how we process our silica at our Thompson, OH facility. Please take a moment to watch the video and learn more about our silica mining and production processes.
Pro/Angle® Production
2021 left us catching our breath after a record year for Pro/Angle! Continued growth in our existing markets and ventures into new areas on the East Coast pushed our equipment and personnel to its limits.
The result? Investment.
Instead of putting a limit on what we can produce, our production team took to the drawing board to increase our production while maintaining the consistency and quality our customers have come to expect from Pro/Angle.
We set out to increase output while improving quality, we accomplished both.
With added equipment and tight quality control measures, we’ve nearly doubled our production rates while improving on what was already consistent quality.
When you’re ready to install the most premium bunker sand available, we’ll be ready.

2021 Mine Safety Awards
The Industrial Minerals Association – North America (IMA-NA) announced last month the companies and mining operations receiving its annual Safety Achievement Awards. The recognition program is run in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
The Safety Achievement Awards recognizes the best reportable injury rate for an individual IMA-NA member company by the size of operations. The award criteria evaluate a company’s safety performance at each of the sites they operate in the United States that are under MSHA jurisdiction. R.W. Sidley, Inc. won the award in the Small Company Category (Fewer than 100,000 employee hours).
We are proud to receive this award and even prouder of our employee’s who make safety a priority.
Cradle-to-Grave = Rock-to-Rock

A full life cycle assessment (LCA) must consider a material’s environmental impact from cradle-to-grave. Concrete is comprised of large and small aggregate and Portland cement, which itself is ground natural aggregate. Once it has reached the end of its service life, concrete can be crushed, to be used as a natural aggregate replacement for virgin aggregate material as either subbase material, or even in new concrete mixes.
From the production of ready-mix concrete to our concrete recycling services, R.W. Sidley remains committed to our environment and extending the life cycle of our natural resources.

Each month we highlight a different R.W. Sidley employee, from all divisions in the company as to what motivates them to come to work every day and do their best.
Brad Buescher, Assistant General Manager
Aggregates & Mining Division
The people working at R.W. Sidley make it a really special place. It's easy to be motivated when every day I get to work with people who are smarter than me, but also kind and care so much about their work, our customers, other employees, our community, etc. Teaming up with them gives me constant joy. Every day is different and I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to delve into many different aspects of the business with our incredible resident subject matter experts. Learning from them and strategizing with them is a lot of fun! We have great people in our industry too and Sidley provides many opportunities to network and learn from them as well. What gives me purpose and really drives me is the massive amount of potential we have to unlock value for our stakeholders (customers, employees, shareholders, community, etc). What Sidley has achieved over almost 90 years is special, but I believe there's an incredible amount of potential here and it's very rewarding to work with such a great team to unlock it. On top of all that, being a 4th-generation family member provides me the unique opportunity to spend a lot of time with my dad, great-uncle, and cousins - and get to know them on a level many don't get to. I cherish all the moments I get to be a sponge learning from Bob Sidley, who has lived and breathed everything-Sidley for 60+ years - and I'm incredibly grateful for the part I get to play in carrying on his legacy with the rest of our team.
