INTRODUCING THE DESERT & DELTA SAFARIS CARES PHILOSOPHY

We are delighted to share with you the official release of the Desert & Delta Safaris CARES Philosophy through a new portfolio of videos, factsheets and blogs.

Our Desert & Delta Safaris CARES Philosophy exemplifies how we develop the human potential of the people of Botswana while protecting our natural heritage.

This is not a new philosophy, but our opportunity to share the story of the foundation on which Desert & Delta Safaris was built through a series of videos, articles & other media. The CARES Philosophy is an exciting new platform for our staff, travelers and industry partners around the world. It forms an integral part of everything from training to how we deliver the guest experience and underpins the way in which we operate both now and into the future.

Established in 1982, Desert & Delta Safaris was one of the first safari lodge operators to be established in Botswana.

Desert & Delta Safaris formed part of the first tourism enterprise to be listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange in 1999.

A few years later Desert & Delta Safaris became the first safari operator of its kind to be managed entirely by Botswana Citizens. Not only are these luxury camps run exclusively by Batswana, today more than half of the senior management at our properties are women. Given the current state of female empowerment and local ownership in tourism in Africa, this is a significant benchmark.

Add to that a breakthrough in introducing solar powered electric safari boats & vehicles into Africa at Chobe Game Lodge, our CARES philosophy shows how successful we can be if we bring people and environmental awareness together.

Through a series of videos and other media, our CARES philosophy shares with you our core values in supporting local citizens, protecting the natural heritage of Botswana and creating lifelong memories for our travelers.

These CARES principles have been at the heart of our success over the past 36 years in developing one of the world's leading Sustainable Tourism companies. We would like to extend a big thanks to everyone who has been a part of this journey.
