Impact of the Young Lords

Mariposa Maria Fernandez (English) visits PIX 11 ahead of the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade to talk about the cultural impact of The Young Lords, an organization that fought for equity in health care and education in the 70s. Fernandez closes out the segment with a performance of her poem "Ode to the Diasporican".

Laude and Proud: Two days before Commencement, President Fernando Delgado, Provost Jorge Silva-Puras, Interim Associate Provost Karin Beck, deans, and faculty congratulated students graduating with Latin honors. Lehman's Spring Fling will be a celebratory garden party like no other. The Honorable Letitia A. James ’82, NYS Attorney General, is the featured speaker and Bally’s Corporation Chairman Soo Kim will be the esteemed honoree. Guests will watch the winning performers of Lehman’s Got Talent, enjoy cuisine from Taste of the Bronx, and bid on Lehman’s first series of NFTs and other items in a silent auction.
