Introducing Coralus' 2024 Ventures

By Catie Davis, Program Associate at PVF

Community, collective action and interconnectedness are the driving forces that shaped the birth of Coralus (formerly SheEO). In 2015, Vickie Saunders sought to overturn conventional power structures and create a global community of women and non-binary funders and entrepreneurs to revolutionize and make the funding system more equitable.

Coralus champions this community by transforming the way we fund, support and celebrate women and non-binary entrepreneurs. They first launched in Canada and quickly expanded across the world to the US, Australia, the UK and New Zealand. In 2016, PVF became the fiscal sponsor for Coralus' US arm and the first round of 5 US Ventures were announced!

Last month, Coralus launched it's 8th round of US Ventures. These Ventures are all working on different aspects of the World's To-Do List (UN Sustainable Development Goals). These goals range from gender equality, responsible consumption and production to good health and well being and many Ventures are tackling multiple Sustainable Development Goals!

Visit the Coralus website and choose a Sustainable Development Goal in the drop down to see which Ventures are focusing on the 17 development goals.

Coralus embraces a unique model that involves female-identifying and non-binary individuals (Activators) who contribute to a fund that is loaned out, interest-free to local, women and non-binary led Ventures. These funds are then paid back over five years, and reinvested over and over again.

Ventures all work for social good, ranging from expanding healthcare to fighting for food justice to improving education access in their communities across all corners of the country. This year's Ventures cohort is working across 5 different sectors and represent 6 states in the US, from Ohio to Alaska to Georgia.

PVF is proud to support Coralus as a designated fund partner. Learn more about the newest cohort below!
