We're thrilled to tell you what we've been up to.

Campers in our Saturday Camp are exploring the city and nature; learning new skills, participating in challenging activities, and having fun with friends. Some of our favorite field trips have included reaching new heights with Boston Bouldering, exploring habitat sanctuaries with Mass Audubon, and learning how to prepare and cook healthy foods at Haley House in Roxbury.

Our February Vacation Camp, What's Cooking: STEAM in the Kitchen and Beyond, was a big hit! Middle school campers explored the science, technology, engineering, art and math of cooking, creating tasty treats and having fun while making connections between academic concepts and real-world skills in the kitchen.

The class was well thought out from the ingredients that were used for the cooking class (e.g. using flour on multiple days showing the children different things to make with the same ingredients) to the focus on the science of cooking and the introducing of social justice and food inequality."

During April Vacation, campers explored STEAM concepts in two exciting and very different programs. Get To The Chopper was a STEAM-centered flight program, where campers were introduced to the science and engineering of aeronautics and drone flight, developed their interests in science and technology with the help of incredible resources from MIT, and built friendships with fellow participants.



Our nature-based camp, Get Out There, emphasized learning through exploration of the beautiful natural resources around us. Field trips and partners included Blue Hills Reservation through Mass Audubon, Orienteering with Navigation Games, Hale Reservation, and Northeast Marine Biology Center.

"Campers learned about the scientific method, built, and flew drones. Our visit to MIT's Wright Brothers Wind Tunnel was out of this world. At the end of the program, two campers said they want to go to MIT to become engineers!"

Camp is Moving!

Adventure Day Camp and Daybreak Day Camp will be held at Nashoba Brooks School in Concord MA, just 30 minutes from Cambridge. This move means new and exciting opportunities for campers. The campus is in a beautiful rural location, offering many new amenities like an art complex, two gyms, a performing art center, a garden and multiple sports fields. We are excited about the new activities and increased time spent in nature! Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will still be provided as usual for all campers. Because our two camps will be co-located, we will share specialists; a camp social worker; art, performing arts and sports teachers; and program partners who will come to campus to provide engaging activities like Parkour, boxing and rock climbing. 

Join Us for the Village Series

The Village Series is a unique workshop series for out-of-school time providers, parents and guardians, and other community members to share perspectives and learn from one another. Cambridge Camping will provide a simple evening meal and child-care so families can eat together, and then enjoy the workshop while children have supervision and playtime. Topics are focused on child development, trauma informed care and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Summer camp enrollment is open!

Enrollment is open for Adventure Day Camp and Daybreak Day Camp, for ages 5-13. If interested, apply now as space is limited. Tuition is decided on a sliding scale which can be viewed here.

Register for Spring Saturday Camp!

From April 29-June 24, a small group of campers will take field trips to our community enrichment partners that may include swimming, parkour, museums, cooking, and more. Transportation, lunch, and snacks are provided with the cost of enrollment. Tuition is $50 for the full 8-week session.

We're hiring staff for both summer camp programs!

Our summer staff is made up of amazing, thoughtful people that are ready to give back to their community all while having a great time. People who work at camp become mentors to campers, make friends with other staff, and gain valuable work experience. Many staff return year after year and build friendships that last a lifetime. If you're looking for a summer job that allows you to spend time outdoors (like beach trips) having fun with campers and colleagues, this could be the job for you!
