Ministry in the church can be life-giving and life-changing. In the midst of it, we need faithful companions along the road. A podcast from the Office of the General Assembly’s Mid Council Ministries gives inspiration to church leaders, including ruling elders and deacons. Many episodes are just 10 to 20 minutes.

Join Disaster Ministry in Helping Floridians Recover

The presbytery’s Disaster Relief Ministry is heading back to Florida in early October. They are returning to Wachula, where they spent a week in May. Volunteers of all skill levels are needed to help with home repairs. A cook also would be helpful. Contact moderator and trip leader Brown Pearson for more information. And look for a recap of the May trip soon on the presbytery website.

An updated Book of Order is available from the Office of the General Assembly. Find a digital English version on the OGA website. The print version is available to order from the PCUSA Store. Digital and print versions in Spanish and Korean will be available soon.

Older Adults Invited to Active Aging Expo

Partners in Healthcare of Virginia will host an active aging expo at First Baptist Church (Richmond) on the morning of July 25. Older adults are invited to learn about topics such as dementia support, financial abuse, home support, healthcare self-advocacy, and other services relevant to seniors. The free event includes a continental breakfast. Please share this event with your congregation members. Registration requested.
