International Women's Day

Communities across the globe will unite in celebration of women on March 8, International Women's Day (IWD). This year's official theme, Inspiring Change, speaks to the need to continue advocating for further positive gains in equality for women.
 
In honour of this day and its theme, we'll be celebrating strong women and sharing inspiration for change here in our city, and we'd love to have you join us! Click here to read more, or check out the community events section below.

Community Events
Join us for a community fair, festivities and noon hour rally at the Jack Singer Concert Hall in the EPCOR Centre. Everyone is welcome. Click here for more information.

Come enjoy a free community potluck dinner at the Kerby Centre. Everyone is welcome, and guests are invited to bring a dish if they are able. Autumn Eaglespeaker with Idle No More will join us as a guest speaker; music and other festivities will also take place!
February Workshops 
Explore your creative side using acrylic paints. After discussing the basics of colour and composition theory, you'll have time to work on your own piece. We will also look at the work of some women artists.

Come out and get excited about your future by making a goal book to help you track and complete your goals. This workshop aims to get you into action! 

Learn about issues of inequality that prevent women from making healthy and informed decisions about their reproductive and sexual health. Presented by the Calgary Sexual Health Centre.

Get inspired, dream bigger and create positive change. We'll explore the topics of goal-setting and women creating change in their communities through discussion and creative exercises like painted word canvases and spoken word poetry.

Status Quo takes a closer look at how much progress we have truly made on issues like violence against women, access to abortion and universal childcare. To see a trailer for the film, click here.
