Western PA Cranberry Township August Training Conference Cancelled
|
|
Scotty Grill - We regret to inform you that the annual Western Pennsylvania Pest Management Association's training conference will not be held this year due to the continued pandemic of the Covid-19 virus.
There are several reasons for this very difficult decision.
- Many of our vendors and speakers have travel restrictions and can not attend.
- There are social distancing concerns.
- The constant changes to state mandated attendance restrictions.
You are not without options if you need credits for your applicator licenses.
-Check with your supplier for any upcoming credit approved meetings.
-Search online for companies that provide accredited online courses.
The Pennsylvania Pest Management Association is trying to possibly provide virtual training meetings. There is no guarantee that this will come together in time for the credit deadline so we encourage you to take action now.

Great Job with NPMA's June COVID Outreach!
|
|
NPMA
- Congress is closing in on another COVID-19 stimulus bill in late July, and NPMA wanted to take advantage of the weeks leading up the bill formation. We created a campaign during June to focus on one COVID related bill every week; NPMA CEO Dominique Stumpf sent a letter to Congressional leadership, NPMA tweeted, and members were encouraged to send messages via Voter Voice. Our results were great!
NPMA members sent 701 messages to Congress in June on these three issues, highlighting the important of all in the next COVID-19 bill. Discussions are happening now, and the timeframe floating around the hill is between the 20
th
of July and the end of the month. It will likely be at the later end of that time frame. The Republicans have indicated the bill will be around 1 trillion, but Democrats have said that is too low. Items being floated include additional direct payments, liability, extension of moratorium on evictions, unemployment insurance and a host of other items. NPMA will continue to push for these three as well as a bill extending PPP eligibility to 501c6 organizations.
