Great Race is coming to Gardiner on June 30th!
History will be made in Downtown Gardiner on June 30th, as the convoy of 140 classic cars (10 of which are from Maine) crosses The Great Race finish line from 2-5PM! From 11-7PM, Historic Downtown Gardiner businesses will welcome attendees to their restaurants and retail shops. There will be food trucks, live music from The GemsTones, theatre, activities, & more! This is a FREE event with an amazing family-friendly atmosphere!

Woodlands Senior Living First in Maine to Earn Accreditation for Assisted Living
Woodlands Senior Living has announced that seven of its ten locations have been accredited by the Joint Commission, with three additional locations expected to earn the distinction in the coming weeks. Woodlands Senior Living are the first assisted living facilities in the state to earn this designation, which is essentially a premier status for assisted living. Woodlands Senior Living of Farmington was the first to receive confirmation of accreditation.

The Kennebec Historical Society’s June Presentation: “Logging in Maine” | |
This slide presentation, titled “Logging in Maine,” describes logging from its earliest methods, including primitive cutting and hauling methods and water-powered sawmills, to the development of steam log haulers and steam-powered sawmills in the early 20th century.
The Kennebec Historical Society’s June presentation is free to the public (donations are gladly accepted) and will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at the Augusta City Center, located at 16 Cony Street in Augusta. Proposed Rules Released for ME PFML
Last week the Department of Labor released proposed rules for Maine's Paid Family Medical Leave Program. The draft rules indicate that beginning January 1, 2025, all employers/employees (unless an employer chooses to fund 100%) are required to contribute to the state plan.
