Bayer Fund Awards $15,000 Grant to IWCS
to Enhance STEM Curriculum

The Agricultural Land Lab at Isle of Wight County Schools was nominated and received a $15,000 grant from Bayer Fund’s America's Farmers Grow Rural Education. The grant will be used to construct a new 34' x 72' greenhouse where students will grow fresh produce for use in the school cafeterias beginning with Windsor Elementary School as a pilot “Farm to Fork” program. Special thanks goes to Mark Carr, Shawn Carr, Richie Carr and Pam Oliver, the local farmers who nominated Isle of Wight County Schools.

The Rebuild! VA state grant program has relaunched with expanded eligibility and new guidelines making more County businesses eligible. Importantly, businesses that were previously ineligible because they received some form of CARES Act funding, including the Isle of Wight Small Business Grant, may now be eligible for Rebuild! VA. Please read the criteria carefully because some restrictions still apply. This is a state grant program administered by the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity.
