Riverbat Experience 2.0

The Riverbat Experience 2.0, a transformative event dedicated to redesigning the future of higher education, is happening this Friday, Sept. 13, 2024! By tuning in, you’ll have the opportunity to explore innovative ideas and groundbreaking developments from the Transform_Ed initiative, and a chance to learn and collaborate with your colleges on the future of higher education and the workforce. 


In-person registration has closed, but you can still register to attend the event virtually. The Riverbat Experience 2.0 kicks off at 9 a.m. on Friday. Visit the website for more information and click below to RSVP.

  • Riverbat Bash 2024: This year’s series kicks off on Monday, Sept. 16 and continues over the next two weeks with events all across the district! Be sure to check out this amazing event to connect with other staff, faculty, students, and to learn more about the various resources and departments at the college.
  • Theory of Change - Student Recruitment: The Theory of Change design teams are seeking diverse student voices to join the charge! Student voices are cruciall for creating better systems and shaping the future of ACC. If you know someone who is passionate about creating change and may be interested in this opportunity, encourage them to apply now! Applications are due by September 30.
  • Transfer Week: Celebrate Transfer Week Sept. 9-13 with ACC's Transfer Services Team and university partners. Attend sessions to help students explore transfer destinations, connect with universities, and prepare for their future transfer.
  • Emergency Preparedness Week: ACC hosts Emergency Preparedness Week (EPW) during the third week of every semester. Throughout the week the College will test and practice its emergency response procedures districtwide with campus drills and an Emergency Alert test. For more info, visit the FacStaff InfoHub.
  • Joyful Employee Mixer: The Ambassadors of Joy are hosting its first ever ACC Joyful Employee Mixer on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the Highland Campus in an effort to bring ACC employees together for food, music, fun, and more! The Ambassadors of Joy are planning to host one mixer per month, in a different ACC region, over the course of the fall semester.
  • Side Hustle Job Fair: The Career Services team is hosting the Side Hustle Job Fair—designed to help students find part-time opportunities that align with their classes and busy lives—on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024. The event will be held outside the ACCelerator in Building 1000 of the Highland Campus. For more information, visit austincc.edu/career.
  • HACU Emerging Leaders’ Summit: The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is accepting applications for its Emerging Leaders Summit on Oct. 4, 2024. College students majoring in STEM and business-related fields are encouraged to apply. Visit hacu.net/emergingleaders to apply or find out more about the event.
  • Student Voice Champion: Join the movement to elevate and empower the student voice and experience through storytelling, collecting perspectives, and uplifting each other's contributions. To check out upcoming dates and RSVP, visit bit.ly/studentvoicechamps.
  • Voter Registration Resource Fair: ACC will host resource fairs Sept. 16-19 across multiple campuses, including Highland, Riverside, Rio Grande, and Round Rock. These fairs will provide resources and connections to volunteer and employment opportunities, in addition to on-the-spot voter registration. There will also be free pizza!   • Join the Club!: Do you wish you knew more ACC students? Are you interested in connecting with others with similar interests? Join ACC Library Services and the ACC Office of Experiential Learning on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024 (10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.) for a film screening in the Highland Campus Presentation Hall (Building 2000, Room 2.1550). The screening will be followed by opportunities to discuss the film and learn how to get involved in student organizations, volunteer opportunities, and voting. RSVP here.
  • Talk About It ACC: Talk about It ACC is excited to bring back Campus Conversations this semester! These events aim to educate young adults about reproductive health, improve access to resources, and empower our students to take control of their well-being.   • Digital Wayfinding: ACC has launched a digital wayfinding map that can help students search for and find their classrooms.   • Microcredentials: Fall Microcredentials are filling fast! Digital Fluency & Innovation offers micro-credentials in high-demand digital and professional skills. These micro-credentials are free to current students, are competency-based, supported by a digital navigator, and offer badges that can be shared on social media and with employers.   • Bat Chat Applications: Bat Chats are thrilling and interactive student-led speaker sessions, inspired by TED Talks! These unique events offer students the opportunity to join their peers in engaging discussions on topics that matter most to them. Do you know a student with valuable ideas, experiences, and insights that should be shared with their peers? Encourage them to apply to become a Bat Chat Student Host!   • Interfaith Dialogue: Curious about how to bring your faith or beliefs into your everyday life on campus? Whether you’re religious, spiritual, or secular, your beliefs are a powerful part of who you are. Join us on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. Rio Grande Multimedia Room (1103) for an interactive event designed to help you confidently express your values in the college community and beyond.   • Chancellor’s Student Achievement Award: The Chancellor’s Student Achievement Award is the most prestigious ACC award earned by a graduating student.   • Credit Mastery: ACC invites you to attend Credit Mastery: Expert Tips for Managing Your Credit, a comprehensive virtual workshop designed to break down the complexities of credit and credit scores.   • Conference on Addiction and Recovery Through a Multicultural Lens: September is National Recovery Month and Austin Community College will be hosting the inaugural Conference on Addiction and Recovery Through a Multicultural Lens (Sept. 25-27) at the ACC Rio Grande campus. This event presents a unique opportunity to delve into substance use and recovery issues through a multicultural perspective and explore the challenges impacting college students and our communities.
