Amarel supercomputer used for discoveries in star formation and disease prediction

Ever wonder how Rutgers researchers use the Amarel supercomputer and other resources within the Office of Advanced Research Computing (OARC)? Well, the answer is clear: They’re making incredible discoveries.

Assistant professor Kristen McQuinn and her research team catalogued star ages in a distant galaxy spanning 13 billion years, completing a complex calculation 600 times with Amarel.

Assistant professor Zeeshan Ahmed’s team reduced genomics calculations within cardiovascular health from years to minutes with Amarel. Their innovative software integrates AI and machine learning to predict diseases.

Rutgers Service Management Office virtual office hours

The Rutgers Service Management Office now offers virtual office hours open to all IT staff. Once a month, the team will be available to answer any questions on IT service management best practices or the use of the ServiceNow platform. No registration is required – drop in anytime!

Rutgers Project Management Community of Practice Spring 2024 meeting

April 9: 1 p.m.–2:30 p.m. (hybrid event)

 

Join the project management community for a conversation that incorporates frameworks, standards, and best practices while focusing on strategies for recognizing and celebrating project achievements.

 

The event is open to all Rutgers staff, and the in-person option for the meeting will be held in rooms 135A and 135B at 33 Knightsbridge, Piscataway. Zoom meeting details will be provided via the Community Office 365 group calendar. Interested individuals should fill out the Spring 2024 meeting attendance survey before Friday, March 29.

Join the new Salesforce Trailblazer group

The Rutgers Salesforce Community, created by the School of Social Work IT unit, will now meet monthly to gather Rutgers use cases, share knowledge and expertise, and offer insight for other interested units​. Individuals may request to join, regardless of current Salesforce experience.
