Cheers to 100 issues of the Trailblazer! | Much like a hiker making a first expedition into the woods or a hobbit seeking the wisdom of an old wizard to throw a ring into a lake of fire, having a guide makes navigating much easier than going it alone. The hundreds of RTD bus operators, dispatchers, Customer Care agents and street supervisors all rely on what some call the “RTD bible,” the Trailblazer, which last week saw its 100th issue go out to the masses.
Access-a-Ride has transitioned to new scheduling, reservation platform
Access-a-Ride has transitioned to a new software platform called QRyde after several months of operational testing. The new platform was specifically designed to improve customer reservations, scheduling and dispatch functionality.

RTD employees march in Commerce City Memorial Day Parade |
On Monday, RTD team members marched to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms Americans celebrate every day. The parade saw more than 100 participating entities, including antique classic cars, motorcycles, floats, horses, bands and marching units. Thousands lined the streets of Commerce City, clapping and chanting.
Representatives from RTD-PD, Legal Services, Bus and Rail Operations, Communications and Engagement, and their friends and family held signs and flags promoting transit. Onlookers were excited to see the parade bus and enjoyed the sirens and lights of the Transit Police vehicle.
Next month, RTD team members will participate in the Juneteenth (June 15) and Pride (June 23) parades. Information about how to join those celebrations will be featured in Inside Connections next week.

Two N Line employees celebrate 15 years of service with RTD
N Line Commuter Rail engineers Patricia Garcia and Byron Maler, pictured here with Rail Service Delivery Manager Phil Washington Jr., recently achieved 15 years of service at RTD! Both previously served the community operating buses for over 10 years prior to making the leap to the N Line team. They have been with the N Line since early 2020 and played a role in its opening. The N Line Commuter Rail team thanks Garcia and Maler for their many years of service and their dedication to making lives better through connections.
Every day across the Denver metro area, RTD employees are making lives better through connections. The agency is proud to spotlight our exceptional workforce who go above and beyond in their roles and embody RTD’s core values. Join us in celebrating colleagues who personify the values of passion, respect, diversity, trustworthiness, collaboration and ownership.
Communications and Engagement recognizes Impact Team members |
Communications and Engagement is incredibly grateful to those who joined the first, and newly formed, Impact Team pilot program cohort for the summer. Impact Team training concluded May 16, and team members immediately started supporting customers on assignment. This was timely, just ahead of the May service change to ensure customers were aware and had their questions answered.

TIC information specialist helps customer resolve issue with mobile ticketing |
I was very frustrated when I initially called RTD. I accidentally purchased an RTD mobile ticket. I was confused and thought I was buying something for Uber. Amanda DeGolier was very patient and even helped me navigate the Uber app. I know she didn't have to do that. I really appreciate that she went the extra mile for me. She provided excellent customer service.
