RTD helps to fuel cyclists at Bike to Work Day | |
In celebration of Bike to Work Day, RTD, alongside the Denver Regional Council of Governments and other local agencies, welcomed cyclists to Civic Center Park with coffee, breakfast treats, promotional items and a custom RTD t-shirt. Cheerful members from the Community Engagement and Planning teams hung out with cyclists while wearing their colorful t-shirts and handing out RTD bike bells, transit-themed trading cards and muffins.
Bike to Work Day stations were set up throughout the metro area, each handing out different items to cyclists to celebrate swapping a ride in the car for a ride on two wheels to help improve the region’s air quality. Those who pledged to ride were automatically entered into a drawing to win prizes, including an e-bike.

N Line conductor James Cunning received the following commendation from RTD customer Colleen McDaniel for his assistance during a medical emergency on the Denver Union Station platform:
“On June 4, we approached the N Line train at Union Station. As we did, an elderly woman staggered off the train and collapsed a few feet from the first car. An RTD employee saw it happen and immediately went to her aid, calling security. She was nonresponsive with a weak pulse. I immediately called 911. Your employee was excellent."

Employees work hard to gather documents for Triennial Reivew |
The Triennial Review is one of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA)’s management tools for examining recipient performance and adherence to current FTA requirements and policies. It was mandated by Congress in 1982 and occurs every three years. As an agency that is a recipient of federal funding, it is important that RTD follows all FTA requirements, which are updated annually.
The triennial is not just a financial review – it is a review of the entire agency, touching nearly every department throughout the district. The FTA wants to ensure we are protecting and maintaining their investment.

Downtown Rail Project completes Broadway/Welton work ahead of schedule |
RTD’s contractor, KCI Construction, has completed all full-depth replacement work at Broadway, Welton Street and 19th Street. Crews completed the second portion of the work at 19th Street on Tuesday, July 2, six days ahead of schedule, and are demobilizing the site today. The road will fully open to traffic by 5 p.m. today. The first portion, which required a full closure of Broadway at Welton Street was also completed six days ahead of schedule. Crews will now move to the two intersections on 15th Street at Stout and California.
RTD Capital Programs and Communications staff, along with Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project partners Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) and KCI Construction, teamed up to visit businesses around the intersections of 15th and California and 15th and Stout in downtown Denver on Tuesday, where full-depth reconstruction is planned to start later this month.
The project partners shared project information and addressed questions by business owners and property managers about projected timelines, traffic impacts and access to buildings and parking garages during construction.
Work is planned to begin July 15 and will take place concurrently on 15th Street at the Stout and California intersections. The work, which is schedule- and weather-dependent, is expected to be completed within three weeks.
