Denver's 16th and Stout intersection opens, alleviates traffic congestion for Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project |
The intersection of 16th and Stout streets will open a single lane to traffic today as part of the 16th Street Mall Project. The opening of a lane at 16th and Stout streets will lessen traffic congestion from the closures on 15th Street at Stout and California and provide alternative ways for people to move through downtown Denver.
The City and County of Denver is reviewing the traffic control plan for the upcoming work on the 17th Street intersections at Stout and California streets. The detours at 17th Street are expected to be similar to those currently in place for the work on the intersections on 15th Street at Stout and California. A detour map will be published on RTD’s Downtown Rail Project webpage once traffic control is approved.
RTD, Denver and project contractor KCI continue to coordinate regarding traffic control to ensure signage is inspected twice daily and continually updated.
