On track for gold: The 2024 Light Rail Rodeo crowns champions amid day of fun, friendly competition
It has been one of the most challenging summers on record for the employees of RTD’s Light Rail Operations and Maintenance of Way departments. Two rail construction projects (Downtown Rail Reconstruction and Coping Panels) happening simultaneously, all the while overshadowed by unexpected rail replacement work on the Southeast Corridor, have put the agency’s grit to the test.
However, for a few hours on Saturday, the 2024 Light Rail Rodeo allowed everyone to relax, blow off some steam and enjoy what makes RTD what it is: the people.

Employees, families enjoy activities at Light Rail Rodeo
The 2024 Light Rail Rodeo, held at the Elati division on Saturday, was a huge hit! Adults and kids alike experienced mini-basketball, mug sliding, face painting, a car and motorcycle show, free food and a video game truck. For more photos, visit the Light Rail Rodeo page on the Hub.
Every day across the Denver metro area, RTD employees are making lives better through connections. The agency is proud to spotlight our exceptional workforce who go above and beyond in their roles and embody RTD’s core values. Join us in celebrating colleagues who personify the values of passion, respect, diversity, trustworthiness, collaboration and ownership.
