Longtime Patient Relies on PT Before, After Knee Replacement
For Cynthia Hallquist, chiropractic care and physical therapy help to build not only physical strength but mental strength, too. That explains why she has been a patient of Dr. Joseph DiDomenico on and off since 1993. Last fall, she had a total knee replacement and felt prepared because she did physical therapy leading up to and following the surgery. Although recovering from a major surgery can be discouraging, she said her team of Dr. D., Lindsay McNamara (pictured left) and Kyle Banna (pictured right) helped her to set goals and make improvements each visit.

10 Reasons You Need to Drink More Water
Dehydration Symptoms & Ways to Hydrate

By Jennifer Kalinsky, PTA

We all know that our bodies are made up of water and we wouldn’t survive without it. So, it shouldn’t come as a shock when our bodies tell us they aren’t getting enough. Unfortunately, many times we don’t realize that’s what is happening.
Therapy Spotlight
Edward Palestro, DPT
We’re shining our Therapy Spotlight on Physical Therapist  Eddie Palestro . His favorite thing about his job is utilizing the selective functional movement assessment, which focuses on being mindful with how you move and ultimately supports you to have a normal functioning life by moving well.

“I have always been a big functional guy,” says Eddie. “You can have all the strength in the world, but if it doesn’t translate to functional movement, where does that really get you?”

His favorite part of the job is meeting people every day. He finds that by just listening, rather than talking, he can learn a lot from his patients – from hearing about what it is that’s causing their pain, to what they enjoy doing, and even fun and random facts.

“As much as my patients that I encounter touch my life, I hope and pray that I can do the same for them,” says Eddie. “I guess the overall goal when my feet hit the floor in the morning is to change the world, one person at a time.”

Not only does Eddie listen to his patients, but he also turns his ears to our physicians.
“They have years of experience and I have plenty of room left in my brain to fill with knowledge,” says Eddie. “I soak it all in like a sponge.”

With things changing and new research surfacing, Eddie takes it upon himself to stay educated on functional exercise. He does so by learning from the physicians, attending continuing education courses and doing research of his own.

Eddie’s two greatest joys in life are his fiancé and his daughter. He also enjoys exercising.
