Dear kimberly,
Thank you for your interest and support to reopen El Molino High School by creating a new K-12 school district. We are excited to share the initial steps of the process and how you can help in the coming months. Please forward this message to others who you think would be interested and they can sign up for the list here.
First, we are pleased to announce that the Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE) has hired an accounting consultant who is in the process of conducting a feasibility study on this initiative. The consultant's report will be presented to the community sometime this fall. This report will guide our efforts in designing the logistical aspects of reopening the school and forming a new district.
Following the presentation of the feasibility report, we will begin the petition process to bring this decision to the voters. Please note that our efforts are not aimed at petitioning the West Sonoma County High School District. Instead, we are working to create a ballot measure that will establish our own K-12 district, encompassing the former attendance area of El Molino High School, including Guerneville, Monte Rio, Montgomery, Fort Ross, Harmony, Forestville and Oak Grove elementary districts. Note that there would not be any school closures as part of this initiative.
We anticipate needing your active participation during the fall and early winter of 2024 into 2025. Stay tuned through this email list so that you can support these efforts by attending community meetings, signing the petition, and writing letters to express your support.
Once the petition process is successfully completed, the measure will be placed on the ballot for a vote, ideally in March 2025.
Your engagement and support are vital to the success of this initiative. Thank you for getting involved. Together, we can make a difference and bring positive change to our community through providing quality accessible education for our students.
Thank you again for your dedication and support.
Best regards,
Kimberly Lambert
