COVID-19 Border Measures Removed!
Starting October 1, 2022, all COVID-19 border requirements, including vaccination, mandatory use of ArriveCAN, and any testing and quarantine/isolation requirements will end for all travellers entering Canada whether by land, air or sea.

The evidence-based removal of COVID-19 barriers at the border is an important step forward for the hospitality and tourism industry—along with the wide-network of ancillary businesses that rely on the tourism ecosystem—providing the predictability and certainty our sector needs.
The BC Hotel Association has long-advocated for these critical changes and welcomes this exceptional news.
BCHA Partners with Alltourage | Simplify the Hiring Process
Finding solutions to the workforce crisis is among our most significant priorities at the BCHA and we are excited to share that we have partnered with Alltourage to help support the recruitment efforts for our association members.

Alltourage is a Vancouver-based company whose mission is to accelerate the hiring process by leveraging their own ecosystems in an easy-to-use referral platform, allowing employees to tap into their own networks, send referrals, and be rewarded. It truncates the time that it typically takes HR to receive high-quality leads by sharing opportunities directly with those in the workplace ecosystem, capitalizing on the number one and fastest form of communication todaySMS (or text) messaging.
ITBC | Resources & Education for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Ahead of Canada's second-ever National Day for Truth and Reconciliation taking place this Friday, Indigenous Tourism BC has shared additional resources to commemorate the occasion: "Residential school findings are ongoing. Our national dialogue must also be. We must all commit to creating safer places for ongoing dialogue between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians."

ITBC announced that over the next year, they will share unique Indigenous stories of truth and reconciliation. With ongoing national dialogue, they share the first steps on a long journey toward a safe space where true collaboration, partnership, and reconciliation can happen.
Celebrate World Tourism Day!
Today is World Tourism Day! The global theme 'Rethinking Tourism' aims to inspire the debate around rethinking tourism for development, including through education and jobs, and tourism’s impact on the planet and opportunities to grow more sustainably. Here's how you can get involved:
  • SPREAD THE WORD: Find everything you need to celebrate World Tourism Day, including social media images, graphics and animations.
  • SHARE YOUR STORY! Share your personal experiences and journeys to showcase the transformative power of tourism.
New Regulations in Effect to Protect
Temporary Foreign Workers
  • mandating that employers provide all TFWs with information about their rights in Canada;
  • prohibiting reprisal by employers against workers, for instance against those who come forward with complaints; and,
  • prohibiting employers from charging recruitment fees to workers and holding them accountable for the actions of recruiters in this regard.
In addition, employers are now required to provide reasonable access to health care services. Employers using the TFW Program, are also required to provide private health insurance when needed.
