National Hotel Sector Receives $3.4 Million in Project Funding Through HAC
This week, the Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance, along with Rachel Bendayan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance, announced an investment of $15 million of National Priorities Stream (NPS) funding, provided to Tourism Industry Association of Canada; the Hotel Association of Canada; the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada; and Tourism HR Canada to support the advancement of national tourism priorities aligned with Canada’s Federal Tourism Growth Strategy.

HAC will recieve $3.4 million and deliver on two projects: Green Key Assessment & Technology Modernization and a National Hotel Recovery Labour Research project. The BCHA looks forward to working alongside our national hotel sector to support our BC operators with this critical investment.

The BCHA has received an invitation to the Destination Canada Mobility Forum taking place on Nov. 17- 23 in Paris (France) and Rabat (Morocco) with a goal of recruiting skilled and unskilled workers to participating establishments, while further solidifying partnerships with additional countries to bring workers to accommodations in BC.

LDB Update | Service Levels to Return Tomorrow By End of October
In a memo share The Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) distribution centres and Wholesale Customer Centres (WCC), it was announced that the LDB has completed all orders scheduled to ship prior to September 28. You will be notified when your order has been shipped. The LDB is at least one week behind due to a continuation of higher than predicted volume and estimates it will take until the end of October before service levels and delivery timelines return to normal.
