WORTH Academy 

Leadership Program for Self-Identifying Women

WORTH Academy is a free 12-week leadership program for professionals working in recreation, tourism and hospitality. Beginning January 8, a cohort of 50 self-identifying women will gain access to self-paced online modules, as well as live group coaching and a virtual leadership mindset workshop. Through interactive discussions, coaching, and real-world examples, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of leadership principles, develop essential skills, and cultivate a strong network in the region.

Hiring a Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW)? Reminder: Wage Rates are Increasing 

As of January 1, 2024, employers under the TFW program will be required to annually review TFWs’ wages to ensure that they reflect increases to prevailing wage rates for their employment and region of work. This year, the job bank wages were updated as of November 29, 2023. Employers who want to hire TFWs are required to pay the hired worker:  

  • The median wage posted on the Job Bank, or 
  • The wage that’s within the wage range the employer is paying current employees doing comparable work with comparable experience.
